Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you found this useful, please consider boosting this model! Thank you in advance!

I went to use the Silica Dryer Spool Insert v2 by Brekel in my Eibos Polyphemus filament dryer, but since I didn't have the spool full of desiccant beads, the dryer's “rotate” feature was unable to rotate the spool because of the weight imbalance. I designed this divider insert to separate the spool insert into 8 sections which allows the polyphemus to rotate the spool and mix up the desiccant beads to dry them more efficiently.

I recommend putting the divider in before pouring the desiccant beads in, otherwise the divider will not be able to go all the way to the bottom of the insert. There is an indent in the divider insert that lines up with the spool insert alignment bump.

I printed both the spool insert and the divider insert with vent slits in PETG-HF and they fit and function well together. I successfully printed the model with the print profile uploaded here. If you are having adhesion issues, please clean or replace your build plate, and do not give a poor rating for that reason.

I've also included a solid divider with no cross-compartment venting, a divider with vent holes, and a test plate if you want to make sure the divider will fit in the spool insert. Full disclosure, I have only printed the “Test” plate and “Vent Slits” plate, both successfully. I don't imagine the others should have any problem.
