Description
Hello, I designed this simple sander that uses the power of your hand-drill. First 3.mf contains the one I made - it suits belt size of 65x410mm. Second 3.mf that doesn't contain “small” suits a little bigger belt - 75x457mm.
For completing the “small” belt sander you need:
- x4 bearing: 22x8mm 608 (can be bought from BambuStore) I used 2x 22x8 and 2x 12x8.
- you can alternatively print the housing for 12x8mm bearings if you have some
- x4 self tapping screws 60x4mm (for connecting the cylinder bushings together)
- x2 M8x200mm threaded rods
- x10 M8 nuts
65x410mm sanding belt
Assembly procedure:
- Print all parts from PET-G or carbon/glass filled Nylon/ABS (I used PET-G Anycubic with Bambu PETG-HF settings)
- Remove supports
- Start with the cylinders - press-fit bearings into their housings
- Put belt onto the first cylinder
- Now you can lock the cylinder in the housing using two self-tapping screws 60x4mm using hand drill (it requires quite big torque)
- You can take your 200mm threaded M8 rods and start adding the table. You only tighten the nuts on right, the left set of 2 nuts will serve later as a belt tensioner.
- Once you've tightened the table to the right cylinder housing with the M8 nuts, you can now assembly the left cylinder housing the exact same way like you assembled the right one. Finish it with tightening the self-tapping screws.
- Now you should use some clamps to hold the little sander on a table.
- Start carefully loosening the nut that tightens the belt in order to tension it.
You have to adjust the nuts equally on both M8 rods in order to prevent the belt from slipping left or right when you're operating the sander. This takes some time and attempts but once you get it right, it can actually serve as a little sander for your table.
Enjoy and print with properly dried filament!
