Description

This is a new take on my last crate, but now you can customize it super easily using MakerWorld’s new tool.

Just tweak three simple settings to make it fit your needs:

Outside length
Outside width
Wall thickness

The height adjusts automatically to give you the biggest crate possible that still folds down flat.

If you want to go even further, you can grab the F3D file and play around with it in Fusion 360 to make it your own.

Assembly

Print the 5 pieces (1 x base, 2 x long side and 2 x short sides)

Snap the sides onto the base in this orientation :

What are the extra pieces outside the 2 print plates for?

Hi, I really like this box, which is why I've already printed a second one. During the second print, I noticed that in your model, on the short sides in the upper area, there are two sections that look strange or are an error. This small error is not visible in the sample picture

When customizing, the download is only one solid mesh, you can't separate the parts to organize them for printing.

You can "split to object" and then lay them out. Mind you I did that and not just get a serializing nan error" I think the bambu tool still has some bugs to workout.

Very nice project, uploaded profile based on my H2S maximum size print. Happy printing and thanks for this model. Very useful.

The parametric modeling is great but could use some improvement. I just used it and the model does not allow to adjust the height of the tote. It automatically adjusts the height based on the length and width. Because of this height adjustment happening automatically, I am assuming, the end pieces with the hand holds are a bit wonky. the hand holds do not move with the auto height adjustment and the ribs do not change either. It also appears 2 of the vertical ribs do not know where they belong. lol Otherwise, a good model. Easy to print and assemble. Reminds me of the knockdown containers from when I worked in manufacturing. 😂 I was able to successfully scale the parts in Bambu Studio to get the desired size, or close enough. I have printed a couple so far. I have also printed other models and this one, so far, is my recommended model.
