Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 Lens Replica – E-Mount

Modeling of the Sony 85mm f/1.8 lens, E-mount.
This replica was designed to be as close as possible to the real model, with some minimal differences in tolerance & measurements, but generally faithful to the original design.

⚠️ Printing Tips

-1- General Parts

Focus Ring:

• To print in 0.16 mm with a 0.4 mm nozzle

Front Cap:

• Requires AMS to get the dual-color logo
• Only enable normal supports on the build plate
•  Slightly stretch the right and left tabs outwards to make the "spring" functional

Button & Switch:

• Print it at a low speed
• Only enable normal supports on the build plate
  
  It is possible to add a micro spring and glue it to simulate the button's return. If printed well, the switch should slide correctly without coming off. 

-2- Choose your lens version

◯ "No Text" Version – Easy (highly recommended)

• Smooth body, no text
• Nozzle: 0.4 mm – Layer height: 0.16 mm
• Optional: AMS for gray base + color customization

◎ "Contour Text" Version – Medium difficulty

• Text in contour extrusion (raised)
• Recommended nozzle: 0.2 mm (possible with 0.4 mm, but requires testing)
• Layer height: 0.16 mm or less
• AMS mandatory for multi-color printing

○ "Negative Text" Version – Difficult

• Text in engraving (material removal)
• Recommended nozzle: 0.2 mm, ideally 0.08 mm or 0.06 mm
• AMS mandatory

◉ "Fine Positive Text" Version – Difficult (test only)

• Text in fine extrusion (material addition)
• Nozzle: 0.2 mm mandatory – ideally 0.08 or 0.06 mm
• AMS mandatory
   

🧪 Below are tests performed with a 0.4 mm nozzle on an 85mm replica: acceptable but limited results.
(As soon as I receive my A1 with a 0.2 nozzle. I will start testing)

-3- Options for the lens interior

⚪ Classic Version

• Lens imitation. (Recommended filament: Bambu PETG Translucent / Enable top layer ironing)
   

  

   

🟠 MicroSD Holder Version 

•  Compartment for 3 microSD cards.  (Filament of your choice / Enable top layer ironing)

   

  

  👉 Version for micro SD card [Sony FE 50 mm 1.8]

   

   

🟡 Piggy Bank Version 

• Compatible with 1, 2, and 5 cent coins (Filament of your choice / Enable top layer ironing)
