Description
Filament Clip for Bambu Spools
I aimed to create a filament clip that is simple to print and functional. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed by the many existing variations, even though considerable effort has clearly gone into them. The filament guide is intentionally internal to enhance adhesion during printing.
Printing is quick and economical. Print time under 4 minutes and 0.65 grams of filament (according to slicer estimates).
Design Concept
This filament clip is specifically designed for Bambu spools to keep the filament neatly organized during storage and use. The clip remains permanently attached to the spool, even during printing, eliminating the need for constant removal and searching. Because the clip attaches to the inside of the spool, it should also work seamlessly with an MMU. While currently untested in the Bambu AMS, it should pose no issues with Creality CFS or Anycubic ACE systems.
Application
The filament clip securely holds the filament to the spool, preventing tangles and knots during storage. Simply slide the filament into the clip from the side.
Printing Instructions
For optimal results, the clip should be printed using a robust and somewhat flexible material such as PETG, TPU, or ABS. However, PLA also works excellently. A recommended layer height of 0.16 mm with 15% infill is suggested.
Assembly Instructions
After printing, simply snap the clip onto its designated location on the Bambu spool. No additional tools are required.
