A common weapon of war—the grenade, or hand grenade.
The entire model is held together by an ingeniously designed mechanism; upon removing the safety pin, much like a real grenade, a trigger (though this isn't the most fitting term, I'm at a loss for a better one) springs outwards, and the grenade, upon being thrown, disassembles into its component parts.
Of course, this isn't the "explosion" I envisioned; this is the extent of my current capabilities. I experimented with several springs to simulate the explosive effect, but lacked a "delay fuse" to initiate the detonation. I pondered this extensively, but found no way to create a delay fuse suitable for inclusion within this grenade using only 3D printing. Therefore, I've settled on this for now, hoping that in the future, a more skilled individual might offer some insightful suggestions for improvement.
