I designed this jewelry box for the competition. My girlfriend also enjoys the model a lot. I have invested a lot of time and material into this project, so I would appreciate a like.
Additional material needed for this project:
Tools:
- Cutting mat
- Rotary cutter
- Utility knife
- Mounting adhesive
- Spray adhesive
- Pen
- Ruler
Material:
- 1m felt of choice 1mm thick
- Mirror 15x15cm 3mm thick
- Magnet 10x 4x2mm
Assembly Instructions:
First, you can glue the upper and lower parts of the frame together with superglue. The magnets can also be inserted with superglue.
Spread out half a meter of felt and spray it with spray adhesive. According to the instructions on the packaging, you can glue all insert parts and let them dry.
After drying, all parts can be cut out. If you want to improve the quality, you can cut the felt so that you can wrap it around the side panels. I did not do that with my model.
Now the individual panels can be glued in with the mounting adhesive. Press the inserts firmly and let everything cure.
Now you can mark the cutouts of the side insert and cut them with a utility knife. Now the side inserts and felt pieces need to be glued. Work quickly and precisely here so you have enough time to correct.
This is what the inserts should look like afterward.
Now the side parts can also be glued in and dried.
For the mirror, you only need the mounting adhesive and the felt-covered frame. You can simply glue this in. The hinges are also quickly connected with a piece of filament. Simply melt the ends with your soldering iron, and it will hold perfectly.
