Description

Because, after making the sword, it's only logical to make the cannon too. Who wouldn't want to have a giant fusion cannon anyway?

As with the sword, there is a bit of creative interpretation going on, as the original is an extremely simplified 2D cartoon and the show isn't a hundred percent consistent with the design.

Materials needed:

For the standard version all you need is glue, for the light up version you'll need 8 3x10 magnets, and a light source, anything will work for this.

If you want you wear it on your own arm, you'll need velcro strips or something comparable.

Variants:

I made a standard version, and one which can be light up with LEDs. It features a panel to be printed in transparent filament and a removable front part for managing the electronics. You can choose between two different light up effects.

Both versions also offer a feature an alternative part without the arm mount, if you want it as a display piece only.

Printing:

There are quite  a few parts to print, but none of them are complicated to print. Printing all at 0.16 layer height printing will take 1.5 - 2 full days, but that's the price you pay for having your own fusion cannon.

Many of the parts require supports, but I cut the model up in a way that they are almost exclusively in places that won't bee seen after assembly.

Using a smooth build plate will result in a cleaner looking print.

Assembly:

Assembly for the Standard Version is pretty easy, glue the main four parts together, them add the red details:

If you want the version with the light up effect, ignore the previous Step 4 instead go with this:

Choose whether you want the flat light effect, or the round one seen here which mimics the charging sequence of the cannon.

For wearing it you'll need to thread a velcro strip or something comparable through the slots. Anything up 25 mm will fit. Glueing the velcro strip in place is recommend so the cannon wont slide around as easy.

Scale:

The finished cannon is almost 60 cm long, but there's a bit of room for scaling it up if you want.

Filament:

I used ZIRO black - silver PLA silk for the main cannon. It is shown to be simply black in the show, but I prefer this not quite black dark metallic look

The red details are Bambulab PLA Basic red.

For the transparent light effects I used ZIRO translucent purple PLA.

So, happy printing!
