Prototype Introduction
The Type 59 tank is China's first-generation main battle tank, reverse-engineered from the Soviet T-54A tank, and finalized for production in 1959. It has a combat weight of approximately 36 tons, a crew of 4, and a maximum road speed of 50 km/h. As the main equipment of the Chinese armored forces, the Type 59 tank and its improved versions served for decades, participating in numerous actual battles and exercises.
