Description

Cable Cover for floor edges

I designed these cable channels/ covers for a power chord I have running at the edge of my floor directly at the wall. The cover nicely and discreetly hides the otherwise pretty conspicuous cable and overall makes my room look more clean and managed.

printing

  • I recommend printing them vertically (last picture)
  • no supports needed (if printed vertically)
  • adhesion is recommended (when printing longer segments)
  • I also recommend printing in lower quality (= bigger layer hight) to reduce printing time.

Usage

I made 2 Versions of the cover. One with a beveled edge and one without. I used the one without beveling in all pictures.

You can also choose from following lengths:

5cm/ 50mm

10cm/ 100mm

20cm/ 200mm

30cm/ 300mm (for the cracks with printers that actually have enough build volume xD)

I secured my covers to the floor/ wall using some double-sided tape. just stick it onto both of the small inner edges of the covers and firmly press it against the wall.

If you want to use multiple covers for a greater distance, you can use one or more couplers to connect the segments. Just insert it into one and slide the other one on.

NOTE: please pay attention to if you need the beveled version of the coupler.

A power cable with an 8mm diameter perfectly fits into the cover.

If you want to fit more cables, you can scale the segments in your slicer. just remember to also scale the couplers, if printing multiple segments.

Happy printing!
