Enter the dawn of the jet age with the F-86 Sabre, America’s first swept-wing jet fighter and a true icon of the early Cold War. Known for its dogfights against the MiG-15 over Korea, the Sabre combined speed, agility, and cutting-edge design to dominate the skies in the 1950s.
Fun Facts:
• The Sabre’s swept wings allowed it to fly faster and handle better at high speeds – a major leap from WWII-era designs.
• It was one of the first jets to break the sound barrier in a dive, reaching speeds over 1,100 km/h (680 mph).
• F-86 pilots claimed a 10:1 kill ratio against MiG-15s during the Korean War.
