🧲✏️ BitPen V2 – The clever cousin of the screwdriver and the pencil… now with an extra trick

A pencil? A screwdriver? A minimalist magic wand?

The BitPen has always been all of that… but the V2 takes it one step further.

Because life is full of loose screws, big ideas and packages to open… and it’s best to be ready for all of them!

🧠 What’s new in this little wonder?

Up front, it still holds a standard 1/4” hex bit – but not just any bit: this one writes instead of tightening.

Yes, it’s an “infinite” pencil (one of those that seem immortal). All you need is:

• A 1/4” eternal pencil refill aliexpress , amazon
• A countersunk magnetic M2 screw to hold it from the inside
• A 5×2 mm neodymium magnet to keep the tip locked in place like magic

But the V2 adds two key upgrades:

1. Integrated Victorinox Classic tweezers in the rear cap, ready for any small task.
2. Built-in package opener: just slide the tweezers until they protrude 3 mm from the end of the cap and you can slice packing tape without destroying the contents.

🔧 What if I actually need to screw something in?

No problem – swap the pencil tip for any standard 1/4” screwdriver bit.

The rear compartment still stores extra bits:

• Compact model: 2 extra bits (plus the pencil = 3 tools in total).
• Long model: 4 extra bits (5 tools in total in your pocket).

The optional TPU insert inside the cap is still there to keep the bits from rattling like maracas in your pocket.

🛠️ Already own the V1?

Good news: only the cap has changed.

If you want to upgrade your BitPen V1 to the V2, just print the new cap and you’re done.

🛠️ What you need to assemble it

• A 1/4” eternal pencil refill
• A countersunk magnetic M2 screw
• A 5×2 mm neodymium magnet
• Victorinox classic 58mm tweezers

Printed in PLA+ eSUN with tested threads and tolerances – a snug fit at first that settles into a perfect, smooth twist after a few uses.

🔄 CAP UPDATE

I’ve updated the cap design to improve both strength and usability.

🔧 New 2-part design

The cap now consists of two separate parts:

• The clip is printed separately in horizontal orientation
👉 This greatly improves resistance to breaking

• The clip is attached to the cap using:
• mechanical locking features
• a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue

👉 This combination provides significantly higher strength compared to the previous version

I’ve added relief grooves in the connection area to the BitPen:

• Before: the fit could feel too tight
• Now:
👉 putting on and removing the cap is much easier and smoother
