Description

This set includes multiple 3D-printable battery holder inserts designed for any cylindrical storage can with a 60 mm internal diameter. The included print profile is sized for a height-modified can based on this MakerWorld model by Rikskeff, which is not my design but an excellent product.

My models are original inserts that fit any 60 mm-diameter can. Each insert has precision-sized recesses for common battery types, keeping them secure while still allowing easy removal.

Included Variations (.3mf file)

  • CR123A / AA / AAA mixed insert
Holds 2×CR123A, 4×AA, 4×AAA cells in separate compartments.
  • CR2032 / AA / AAA mixed insert
    Holds 2×CR2032 coin cells, 4×AA, 4×AAA cells.
  • CR2032 / CR123A / AA / AAA mixed insert
    Holds 2×CR2032 coin cells, 2×CR123A, 4×AA, 4×AAA cells.

Optional Accessory
A TPU Water Protector is also included. It fits on top of any insert and has a pull tab for easy removal. I haven’t tested how waterproof it actually is—and I don’t recommend taking batteries swimming—but it should provide extra splash resistance.

Fit & Sizing Notes

  • If using a different can than the one in the print profile, ensure the internal diameter is at least 60 mm.
  • With the TPU Water Protector, the height of the can should be ≥ 60 mm; without it, about 5 mm less.
  • As a general rule, each battery protrudes roughly 10 mm above its recess.

Test & Low-Material “Disks”
For quick fit checks or filament-saving setups, this set also includes 5 mm-high “disk” versions of each battery insert. These fit snugly inside the can, just like the full inserts, but use far less material. They’re ideal for testing the fit before committing to a full-height print or for minimalist storage solutions. Keep in mind that because the disks are shallow, battery tops will sit at different heights depending on placement, and they won’t be held as securely as in the full inserts.
