Description

Deck Board Hole Spacer

This spacer is designed specifically for TimberTech Prime+ 6-inch wide boards, but will also fit most other 6-inch wide deck boards. The guide makes it easy to achieve accurate and consistent hole placement—simply slide it onto your board and use a 3/16-inch drill bit to drill through the marked positions. Perfect for creating clean, evenly spaced holes every time.

Printing Notes

This guide was printed in Bambu Labs PA6-GF for strength and flexibility, using a Bambu Lab A1 with AMS. To improve adhesion on the A1’s build plate, I used a “sacrificial” first layer of PETG before continuing with PA6-GF. This hack is included in the print profile for anyone who wants to replicate the method.

Note: This workaround is only needed for open-bed printers such as the A1 and A1 Mini. Owners of the X1, P1, or H2D can ignore this step.

Disclaimer: you will need to bypass certain printer settings to use this approach.

Navigate to "Preferences" in Bambu Slicer

Next, check the box that says “Remove the restriction on mixed printing of high and low temperature filaments”.

Finally, change the second filament to PETG.

If you prefer not to use the PETG “sacrificial layer” method, you can print this drill guide in PLA-CF or other engineering-grade materials on the A1 or A1 Mini.
