Description

This fun game was inspired by settlers of Catan, a popular board game that I thought could use just a little improvement.

2-6 players may play it. THIS GAME DOES NOT COME WITH A BOX. (Box is currently in workshop thanks to @EVAN_ROLAND)

I worked on this really hard and support is gladly appreciated!

Here is the rulebook.

What's Included

  • 1 hexagonal board with 91 tiles
  • 89 resource tiles:
    • 24 Wood (Long and thin)
    • 24 Stone (Look like pebbles)
    • 24 Brick (Rectangular prism)
    • 17 Steel (Brick with a little notch in the top)
  • Structure tokens: Towns (Look like a house), Castles (Have the tower things), Fortresses (Large wall), Catapults, Battering Rams
  • Unit tokens: Gatherers (Pawn like guys), Soldiers (Have a little shield symbol)
  • Cards for each unit and structure (stats and costs)
  • Resource tokens

The top left is Stone, the top right is Wood, the bottom right is Steel, and the bottom left is Brick

Setup

  1. Place Resource Tiles
Shuffle all resource tiles and place them face down randomly across the board.
  2. Initial Reveal
Reveal a number of tiles based on player count using the formula:
    6 + 6 × number of players

    Number Of PlayersTiles Flipped
    112
    218
    324
    430
    536
    642
  3. Town Placement
Place one town token in each corner of the board.
Each player selects a town and receives matching tokens.
  4. Gatherer Placement
Each player places gatherers on the three tiles directly adjacent to their town.

Gameplay

Play proceeds clockwise, starting with the youngest player. On your turn, you may:

  • Move each of your units one space in any direction
  • Gather resources
  • Trade with other players
  • Build structures using resources and available tokens

Resource Gathering

When a gatherer lands on a face-up resource tile:

  • Collect 2 tokens of the shown resource (1 if Steel)
  • Flip the tile face down after gathering
  • An opponent randomly selects a face-down, empty tile and flips it face up
  • All resource tokens are drawn from a shared global supply

Building Structures

You may build any number of structures on your turn, provided you have the resources and tokens in your personal supply. Structures are placed one space away from any gatherer you control unless otherwise specified. When placing a castle, the tile underneath it is removed from the game.

Each player has a limited number of structure and unit tokens. Once depleted, you cannot build more of that type unless you gain additional tokens. If you defeat another player, you gain all of their remaining tokens into your supply.

Costs and effects are listed on each structure’s card.

Castles and Fortresses may not be played next to any other castle or fortress

When you play a Structure place a Player Marker (The little rings)

Combat

Units and structures have HP and attack power listed on their cards. All units have a range of one tile in any direction.

Combat proceeds as follows:

  • Unit vs Unit:
    1. Attacker deals damage
    2. If defender survives, it retaliates.
  • Unit vs Structure:
  • Attacker deals damage
  • Structures do not retaliate

Victory

To win, reduce all opponents’ base HP from 20 to 0. When a player is defeated:

  • They are eliminated
  • All their units, gatherers and structures become property of the player who defeated them
  • Their remaining token supply is added to the victor’s supply

The last remaining player wins.

Structure Control

When a castle or fortress reaches 0 HP:

  • Remove player marker
  • The first person to have a soldier adjacent to the structure places their player marker on it.
  • If there are 2 or more soldiers near it when defeated, the only who defeated the castle has priority. Next priority is the player whos castle it was. If there is a tie between two players who fall under neither of those categories, nobody gets it until there is only one player next to it.
  • The structure is restored to full HP under the new owner
  • The new owner may play new units adjacent to it

You may need a D-20 to show that health of your town. I would also suggest a large number of other dice for each of your catapults, castles, and Fortresses.
