Tutankhamun Cat Crown and Bastet Protective Shield Necklace

• This project includes two accessories: the Tutankhamun Cat Crown and the Bastet Amulet Shield Necklace, both inspired by real ancient Egyptian artifacts.

  Source of Inspiration	Tutankhamun's Golden Crown         Tutankhamun's Golden Crown is an important artifact discovered in Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922, now housed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It features cloisonné enamel work, decorated with gold, inlaid with carnelian circles, and edged with turquoise and lapis lazuli. The front center of the crown depicts the protective goddesses of Upper and Lower Egypt: Nekhbet, the vulture goddess, and Wadjet, the cobra goddess, inlaid with obsidian eyes and semi-precious stones and glass, respectively.	Bastet or Sekhmet Amulet Shield         The core feature of the Bastet or Sekhmet Amulet Shield is the combination of the feline goddess's head with the broad collar common in ancient Egypt. The god's head often features a solar disk and cobra headdress, and elements of human tripartite wigs can be seen beneath the lion's mane. Made from various materials, these small, exquisite pieces crafted from gold and Egyptian blue serve both decorative and religious functions.

Design Highlights

1. The shape and color scheme perfectly translate the stylistic characteristics of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
2. Both pieces in this work adopt a structure where flexible fabric is embedded within small components, allowing the pieces to be highly flexible and changeable in form.

• Bastet Amulet Shield Necklace description:

  • The Bastet Amulet Shield Necklace uses a magnetic connection method. If the necklace gets caught on something, it will release itself, ensuring maximum safety~

    

  • The Bastet Amulet Shield Necklace comes in various sizes from 16cm to 30cm, so there's always one suitable for your cat's neck circumference.
  • The connectors of the Bastet Amulet Shield Necklace are decorated with cartouches and ankhs, protecting the cat and ensuring its peace and safety.
• Tutankhamun Cat Crown description:

  • The Tutankhamun Cat Crown uses a pin connection method, ensuring all components are firmly assembled and do not fall off.

    

  • The front end of the Tutankhamun Cat Crown replaces the original vulture goddess Nekhbet and cobra goddess Wadjet with adorable cat-bodied and cat-faced figures.
  • The "S"-shaped lines on top of the Tutankhamun Cat Crown can be directly bent.

Materials Needed

1. 80 mesh gauze fabric, any size, used to cut into strips and insert between small components to connect them.

   

2. Several 8mm diameter × 1.5mm thick magnets.

   4 magnets are needed to make each necklace; several magnets are needed to hold the gauze fabric onto the printing plate.

Printing and Production Method

1. The pause layers have already been set in the 3mf file, print directly until paused.

   

2. Cover the paused layer with the cut strips of gauze fabric and secure them with several magnets, as shown in the schematic diagram:

   

3. Continue printing until finished, the schematic diagram is as follows:

   

   After removing the model, gently bend the connections of the different small components to make the model flexible.

Post-processing

1. Use flush cutters or other tools to trim off the excess gauze fabric.

2. For the Bastet Amulet Shield Necklace, glue the magnets into the reserved slots.

   Note:

   · Pay attention to whether the magnet direction is correct to ensure opposite poles attract.

   · Magnets are relatively smooth, so you can first sand the magnet surfaces to increase roughness and improve friction between the magnet and the slot when gluing.

   

3. For the Tutankhamun Cat Crown, pay attention to distinguishing the front and back: the end with two complete pins is the front, and the end with two incomplete pins is the back.
