The Design

Here we have my latest design - The Twister.

I wanted to create a spinning illusion that incorporated spirals to give an illusion of the part moving upwards or downwards.

This spinner uses no bearings and spins for an surprising amount of time.

It can stood upright or be laid on its side

Dimensions are 65mm wide, 78mm deep and 120mm tall.

I've included 3 different thicknesses of the spinning part to help with print, brittle filaments such as silk should use the thicker +1mm profile.

and there are 2 variations of the holder.

The mixed color combination is fairly efficient on a H2D.

Let me know if you experience any issues.

Printing

The are two print profiles, the x1/p1 profile has all three parts on 1 plate

For the “All Variants” profile, pick 1 plate of a Base and 1 plate of a Spinner

No supports are needed, the standard twister should be printed with basic filament as it risks failling with silk filaments.

Once printed let the build plate cool before trying to remove.

My Work

Thank you to everyone who has and is supporting me in my design work, when my 8-5 engineering job ended a year ago i never expected to be able to design almost full time, and its all thanks to you!
