LM2596 Dual USB Buck Converter Snap-Fit Case

Description

I needed a compact protective case for the common LM2596/LM2596S Dual-USB buck converter (5 V/3 A).

The enclosure is intentionally simple and needs no screws or additional hardware.

Board specs

• Input: 6 to 40 V DC (typical use at 9 V / 12 V / 24 V / 36 V) via 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel jack or 2-pin screw terminal
• Output: 2x USB A
• Board size: about 50 x 35 x 12 mm

Dimensions

• Enclosure: 41 x 53 x 22 mm
• Lid: 51 x 53 x 5 mm

Assembly

• Align the PCB with the three internal locator pins (USB ports facing the openings) and press down evenly until it snaps/seats into place. Avoid pressing on the trimpot, apply light pressure near the board edges.

Printing

• PETG and PLA are both working good and tested.
