Description

I cant believe I designed yet another poop chute…… anyway. This is designed to facilitate managing fillament purges (poop) for printers on a rack with the collection below. It would also work with a printer on a table with a catch bin under the table

Design features.

  1. Magnetic mounting plate screws directly over the chute of the printer; insuring perfect alignment and easy removal every time.
  2. Uses readily available, durable, flexible tubing to direct purged filament into a catch basin under the table or at the bottom of the printer racks.
  3. Pass through chute allows stacked printers to share tubing and pathway to the catch point. ( you need 2.5" behind your storage racks or table)
  4. The tubing can be wedged into standard cereal bin lids that are frequently used for storing filament.

Items needed and instructions.

  1. Print test model to make sure the magnets fit firm. you can press fit them if you want but I like to glue them.
    1. Super glue that is a great value on amazon: https://amzn.to/3SRfurF
  2. Super Glue 8x3 magnets into the base plates and the chutes. Pay attention to polarity!
    1. I used these magnets. They ran short of 3mm in thickness. https://amzn.to/3OyeGpm
  3. Screw the base plates into the back of the printer. replacing the black screws that came on the printer with M3x8mm screws was necessary in my case.
  4. Attach 2.5" dust hose onto the chute using the clamps. Cut to length with a utility knife and side cutters. Continue as needed.
    1. I used this little kit which comes with clamps. https://amzn.to/49MmyvF . It will be plenty of tubing to do 4-6 printers, but you may need to buy more clamps if doing more than 2or 3 printers.
  5. If you want to use the cereal boxes rather than some other bin (like a cardboard box :D ) I have these and the tube could be squeezed into the lid. https://amzn.to/49sQ9d9
