2026-01-20 Update: Updated support settings to reduce the problem of support breakage caused by the nozzle's slight Y-axis error colliding with the central support at the bottom of the pot during printing

The previously designed AIR 1L flower pot was so effective that to meet the planting needs of larger pots, I designed this AIR 2L flower pot. Compared to the AIR 1L, the AIR 2L even comes with 6 different saucer options

About the AIR 2L Flower Pot:

  • This pot can hold about 2L of soil, with a height of 159mm, an outer top opening diameter of 169.2mm, and a bottom diameter of 131.2mm. Therefore, it can also be printed on an A1 mini

  • Raised by 11.5mm, even with a saucer, the bottom soil will not be waterlogged

  • Triangular holes are added to the sides to improve the pot's breathability. When roots grow out of the holes, the outer roots are automatically pruned, promoting the growth of inner roots, allowing the plant to absorb nutrients to the maximum extent

  • Ventilated drainage holes like a sieve allow plant roots to breathe well

About the AIR 2L Saucer:

  • For the saucer, it is recommended to use the 'Plate 2' wavy saucer (high)' from the .3mf print profile. Its lowest point is 2.5mm below the aeration holes at the bottom of the pot, exceeding the critical surface tension value of water by approximately 1.5mm. Therefore, even if the saucer overflows after watering, it will not block the breathing holes at the bottom of the pot, which would make plants more susceptible to root rot. It is very suitable for open-air balconies (exposed to rain) and for those who water excessively (uncomfortable if not watering)

Other 5 Saucer Options:

  • Plate 3 removes the wave tops based on Plate 2, which saves some material. Its highest point is also 2.5mm below the pot's exhaust holes
  • Plates 4 and 5 remove the central bulge based on Plate 2. When watering heavily, the water level in the bottom saucer will soak into the pot's soil, making the lowest aeration holes completely ineffective. Perhaps insectivorous plants that require sitting in water would use this type of saucer
  • Plates 6 and 7 remove the central bulge, and the saucer edges are also relatively smaller. Although the lowest point is still 2.5mm below the pot's exhaust holes, so it won't block them, this saucer's water holding capacity is too small. If used in an office, water can easily overflow from the saucer when watering. However, there should be no such concern when used on an outdoor balcony or terrace, and it also saves a lot of material
