Description

I've bought many different toolbox organization systems over the years but there were always tradeoffs in terms of spacing and length. I've seen a number of modular systems that clip together but I wanted more options for customization. I wanted to maximize the space in my toolbox since I have a lot of sockets and not a ton of space. This model is part of my modular system that allows you to customize your socket draw any way you like.

The system allows rows of 30mm or 40mm width with different increments of spacing based on what you need for your 1/4, 3/8, & 1/2" sockets. This model is specifically made to support Milwaukee Insider Ratchet Sockets which have a non-standard format and thus do not fit in normal socket organization systems. It's one of those tools that comes in handy when you need it.

Each socket is designed to fit in a 40mm row that can either be all Insider sockets or any combination of standard sockets supported in the system. They will fit metric or standard sockets sets for the insider which you can get here if you don't already have them.

Each socket has a hole under it where you can insert an optional magnet to hold everything in place. I use a dab of super glue under each and use a pair of pliers to push the magnet into the hole. If you don't glue them, you may leave your magnet behind when you try to move them around in your toolbox.

  • They take a 1/2"x3/16" Neodymium magnet that can be purchased on Amazon via my affiliate link: https://amzn.to/3VwOuhD
  • This Super Glue is good – it's medium viscosity which seems to work well. https://amzn.to/3HWIg7I
  • I use a pair of pliers to press the magnet into the holder like these: https://amzn.to/4662ILt but any pair of channel lock type pliers will work as well.

I intentionally didn't base these on Gridfinity because I wanted maximum flexibility and the 42mm grid would force me to waste more space than I wanted to. That said, I can create a Gridfinity version if there is demand.

Please provide any suggestions for improvement and I'll do my best to iterate the design. I'm also working on a version that supports the Milwaukee Insider Sockets which use a custom design for their narrow-head electric ratchet.
