Description
You might know this situation … you've found a cool HueForge print online (or even are making your own) and Bambu Studio seemingly takes forever when slicing it. I've ran into that. For hours and so many tries at re-meshing, reducing, fiddling with settings … very often the slicing step seemed to just crash or freeze.
That's why I've created this profile and want to share it with you.
Just a few easy steps:
open the profile that fits your printer model
delete the placeholder model
import your HueForge .STL
assign the colors to your layers (as with every other HueForge print)
HIT SLICE!
RELIABLE AND SUPER FAST even with 1.000.000+ triangles!
Don't wait for several minutes, hours or even over-night and wonder if it has crashed.
It's probably done in under a minute now. 🥳
Note: Lately I've fiddled around with creating hybrid HueForge prints, meaning a mix of a HueForge background + a 3D model on top, printed at the same time. That's where my slicing problems started, the added complexity of the 3D model made the slicing unreliably slow, most of the times it seemed to hang or would take another hour, maybe not finish at all. After trying so many things I've come across these settings and it's really fast now.
You may want to adjust the print speed or whatever to your liking.
If you have improvements to this: please comment. I do not pretend that this is THE one profile to use. Just was very frustrated with the slicing speed.
