The designer purchased a 4L rice bucket from Alibaba. After printing several filament holder models on the platform that were either incompatible or impractical, this 4L rice bucket filament holder was designed to meet personal usage needs.

1.Rice Bucket Compatibility: Suitable for the ¥8 single 4L rice bucket (double-sealed) from Alibaba – the most cost-effective option found (😂 Link: Copy ¥DVCnxx600voah¥ and open [Alibaba]). The ¥14 rice bucket from Pinduoduo has a narrower bottom and cannot be used with this holder (a compatible version for it will be released later; follow the designer for updates).

Since availability varies by country, I’m not sure if this specific rice bucket is sold in your region. Please refer to the image below to check if it matches the rice bucket you have. Additionally, you can measure the bracket model using slicing software to determine if it is compatible with your rice bucket.

2.Modular Design: The holder and desiccant box are designed separately. You can print only the holder or both components according to your needs.

3.Functional Designs:

  • The holder’s rollers have a limiting function to effectively secure the filament spool.
  • The desiccant box adopts a limiting knob design, with a capacity to hold 100g of silica gel desiccant or molecular sieve.

5.Materials Required:

  • Filament weight for the holder: 55g
  • Filament weight for the desiccant box: 45g
  • 4 pieces of MR148 bearings (inner diameter: 8mm, outer diameter: 14mm, thickness: 4mm) for the rollers (ensures smooth and durable operation)
  • 4 pieces of M3 countersunk screws (length: 10-14mm) – to prevent roller detachment; alternatively, press-fit rollers can be tested (compatibility varies by 3D printer).

6.Assembly Recommendations: Due to differences in 3D printer assembly precision, even for the same model of printer, printed parts may vary slightly depending on the printing material, parameters, and machine characteristics. Therefore, both press-fit and loose-fit rollers are provided for different usage scenarios. Do not over-tighten the screws on the rollers – ensure the rollers can rotate along with the filament spool.
