Curved Router Fence

For my new router table, I still need dust extraction for chamfering / radius machining The device not only provides extraction (via osVACneo DN32 connection) but also primarily serves for safety In German-speaking countries, there is the term “curved routing fence” Such devices are available, for example, from Festool, but they also cost a bit

The function is quite well explained using a wooden version in this YouTube video: 

There are simple devices (Example 1, Example 2), but these are designed for direct bolting to the insert plate or the table On my setup, an M8 C-rail runs along the insert plate, to which I wanted to attach the device Additionally, I wanted to remain flexible in case a different stop is ever needed

The yellow fence is height adjustable and can be positioned against the guide bearing of a round-over / chamfer bit This allows the workpiece to be safely guided into the cutter without kickback

The yellow hood is also height adjustable A 2mm acrylic glass pane is installed on top, allowing a safe view of the routing process from above A groove for 5x5mm brush strips is provided on the underside The brush is simply inserted and secured against slipping out with a small block The brush increases the extraction performance

In addition to the 2mm acrylic glass pane (rough cut with a utility knife, round contour with a disc sander), you will need:

• Brush with body 5mm x 5mm and brush length 40mm (flexible brush body!)
