WW2 M3 Fighting Knife
Print Profile(1)

Description
The M3 fighting knife is an American military combat knife first issued by the United States in March 1943. The M3 was initially designated for soldiers not equipped with bayonets. However, its design was intended for units specifically requiring close-combat knives, such as airborne troops and Army Rangers, who were therefore given priority in issuance at the beginning of M3 production. As more M3 knives were produced in 1943 and 1944, the knife was also issued to other soldiers, such as Army Air Force aircrews and soldiers not equipped with bayonets, including those issued with M1 carbines or submachine guns.
