Description

DESCRIPTION

A model of a classic lamp commonly found on narrow-gauge railways in Saxony. However, this lamp also fits perfectly in many other scenes – railway stops, parks, streets, or similar environments.

The model is designed in scale 1:22.5–1:24 and is suitable for garden railways. Printing the parts is not particularly difficult, but make sure to ensure good bed adhesion. Some parts require supports, so check that they are enabled in your slicer.

 

For better brightness, paint the inside of the lamp shade with chrome or silver paint to improve light reflection.

 

All lamps shown in the photos and video were printed using ASA filament, which I personally recommend – it glues well with regular model glue and is highly resistant to sunlight, making it ideal for outdoor use. Of course, you can use other materials too – just make sure you have the right adhesive for them!

The model is designed to fit even smaller 3D printers. You’ll need two filament colors:

  • Black (for the lamp head and metal parts)
  • Brown (for the wooden post)

Print the lamp shade with a layer height of 0.08 mm, and all other parts with 0.16 mm layer height.

The download package includes a complete set of parts to build 6 lamps. If you need a different number, simply adjust the quantity of parts on your print bed.

NOTE

Assembly requires some manual skill and basic knowledge of LED wiring.
⚠️ Be careful with the LED voltage! You’ll need to connect an appropriate resistor depending on your power supply voltage.

You can use any 5 mm round LED, though I recommend a type with an extended body (see below).
