Description

An all-around long-term Meshtastic solar node built using a DIY 3x21700-battery pack and off the shelf parts and Two external SMA antennae: BLE and Lora this the case can be printed using CF filaments.

The Build uses:

  • This case printed in ASA / ASA-CF
  • RAK19003+RAK4631 with a miniature Qwiic pigtail soldered for I2C
  • Adafruit bq25185 USB / DC / Solar 1S LiOn Charger
  • Adafruit INA219 I2C board for power measurement between the battery and the rest of the system
  • Sensirion SHTC3 I2C humidity and temperature sensor (optional)
  • Ixolar SM641k10l High Efficiency 1.4W 6.9V solar cell (111x63x1.8mm)
  • 3x Samsung INR21700-40T 4000mAh LiOn battery cells spot welded in parallel

The model also includes a simple 3x21700-battery holder to be used during spot-welding the battery cells. This part is optional and is not used inside the case.
