Clicker Present Box 🎁

A fun, compact fidget clicker modeled after a wrapped present — great for markets, stocking stuffers, or desk toys.

I was looking for something inexpensive to put on my table for the holiday season, but most of the present clickers I ran into had a few problems:

  • Too large — the price pushed too high with my normal markup, and they didn’t feel comfortable in smaller hands.
  • Bows right on top — exactly where your thumb wants to go, which leads to stress breakage.
  • No commercial license — and I try to stay on the right side of that line.

So, since I had a bag of clickers and a set of calipers, I did what I always do when I can’t find what I want: I made it myself. I skipped the bow entirely to keep the top clean and thumb-friendly, and then I figured my commercial subscribers might like something cheap and easy for their own tables, so I'm posting it here.

I knocked these out quickly — the ribbon fits snugly but doesn’t snap onto the lid. The intention was to print them in bulk and hold the clicker and ribbon in place with a drop of glue. Because there’s a bridge along the ribbon channel, I turned supports on, but you can likely get away without them — it’s an ugly bridge, but it’ll be hidden by the ribbon. When printing in bulk, you should be able to fit 14-15 of them on a plate.

  • Uses less than 8g of filament total per box.
  • Designed for Cherry MX–style keyboard switches (I used the green version of these from AliExpress ↗)
  • With AliExpres shipping costs, the total cost per clicker is under USD $0.40 (depending on your filament choices)
  • Box/lid and ribbon print on separate plates so you can mix and match colors.
  • The ribbon glues to the top of the lid, and the clicker glues into the base.
  • The lid is a good friction fit on the clicker post, but can be glued if you prefer a permanent seal.
  • Makers should fold or remove the two metal leads from the switch before assembly.
  • The design is optimized for fast, bulk printing — perfect for low-cost table fillers or giveaways.
