Update – A1 Mini Profile

I’ve added a new print profile specifically for the Bambu Lab A1 Mini.
This version of the rail is shorter to fit the smaller build volume.

Depending on your setup, you may need to use two rails in a row per side to ensure a secure and stable fit for your TROFAST boxes.

Original Text

This custom rail system allows you to use IKEA TROFAST storage bins inside a KALLAX shelf unit. The rails are designed to fit standard TROFAST boxes (42 × 30 × 10 cm and 42 × 30 × 23 cm) perfectly.

Mounting

I mounted the rails using 20 x 3.5 mm screws, which provide a solid hold. After more then two years of daily use, the design has proven to be sturdy and reliable

Small and big box

By positioning the rails so that there is approximately 1.5 cm of space between the upper edge of the rail and the top of the shelf opening, you can slide in one small (10 cm) bin on top and one large (23 cm) bin below.

Three small Boxes

Position the top rails with a space of 1.5 cm between the upper edge of the rail and top of the shelf for the top box. The other rails are positioned approx 9 cm from the bottom edge of the top rail to the upper edge of the bottom rail (see image).

The model was printed in PLA, and the strength has been more than sufficient for typical household use.
