Filament Eject Conveyor - WasteWarp

Description
⚠️ Important Note:
Before leaving a negative rating, please be aware that the WasteWarp chain requires very tight tolerances. Proper function depends on accurate printer calibration and the recommended material (PETG) as well as a 0,2 mm nozzle.
As shown in the published photos, the WasteWarp works as intended when printed and assembled correctly.
If any segments break during assembly, it is most likely due to insufficient printer calibration or dimensional inaccuracy, not the model itself.
Printing conditions: 3mf file / Bambu Studio Slicer / Bambu Lab H1C / stl not recommended!

The WasteWarp is a compact conveyor designed to handle filament waste ejected from your Bambu Lab printer. Powered by a 5V geared motor, it runs continuously at a low speed, gently transporting purge material and scraps into a separate container.
The conveyor attaches magnetically to the rear of the printer near the eject port, ensuring perfect alignment and preventing it from slipping during operation. By elevating the discharge angle, the WasteWarp allows for a larger waste bin with increased capacity, keeping your workspace cleaner and your printer running longer without interruption.
Features:
- Magnetic attachment for stable positioning behind the printer
- Low-speed 5V gear motor drive
- Smooth, angled conveyor design
- Round-link chain system
- No glue
- No screws
- Every part except the motor is 3D printable.
With WasteWarp, even waste management feels like future tech. 🚀

Recommendation:
For optimal performance and motor longevity, it’s highly recommended to use the Bambu USB Speed Controller (B-IA002) between the power supply and the motor to reduce the motor speed. This ensures smoother operation and significantly extends the DC motor’s lifespan.
An even more refined and efficient solution is to use a USB timer switch, which can operate the motor intermittently in seconds-based cycles — for example my settings are, 3 seconds ON and 60 seconds OFF. Since the printer only ejects waste occasionally (e.g., during filament changes), this setup keeps the system energy-efficient and quiet.
Simply connect your USB power supply for the motor through this timer switch to achieve automatic, smart waste handling.

UPDATE 1: Printer-Aligner added to print profile.
UPDATE 2: Slim Basket Print Profile Added
A new slim basket has been designed for the WasteWarp system. This compact container fits perfectly next to the printer and collects purge waste without taking up extra desk space. Ideal for smaller setups or users who prefer a minimal footprint.
UPDATE 3: Auto Swing Flap Added
During a long-term test print (Tom and Jerry - 53 hours), a small piece of filament waste got stuck on the rear grill. To prevent this, a new auto swing flap has been added to cover the grill at the end of the conveyor. The flap automatically swings open when a chain link passes through and then closes by itself, ensuring smooth and reliable waste ejection even during extended print jobs.

⚠️ Important Note:
The WasteWarp chain needs to be printed with a 0,2 mm nozzle and PETG filament!
