  • Universal Threaded Broomstick x 1: 1.4m length ideally, but you can print the extension for shorter ones. Idk how strong it will be if you just use the extension for the whole model lol.

Description

Hi, the same friend who asked for the fire investigator backpack wanted a new prop this year, so here it is lol. The axe is about 1.8m tall in real life (5'10" or so in freedom units). The whole model is designed with 3d printing in mind and should be pretty easy to put together and print, with few needs for supports and just about the right tolerances between parts for easy assembly. Whole print takes about 3kg of plastic between all the different colours with the settings I used, good luck with the printer torture test LOL! The only part that requires an AMS is the big axe pieces with the white patterning, but you can just as easily paint in the indents later.

The whole thing goes together over a normal household broomstick ideally with 1.4m length (4'7" or so), and the bottom can even be unscrewed if you somehow want to use the axe as an actual mop. Other parts will need superglue to attach, and you'll also need superglue to attach the individual links over the broomstick. There are notches for all the trim pieces and holders for the lantern, and you can either refer to the pictures or the CAD model for more reference :) There is a small extension piece that can also be scaled if you somehow want to use that piece for the whole model, but I can't promise how strong or sturdy the final print will be using that method.

I have provided the CAD file in case you need to modify the cavity within the rods to accomodate different broomsticks. Other than that, just have fun printing lol, maybe I'll be back next year with another model :P

To attach the lantern to the axe, I used some detachable chains, but you can probably find any number of ring or carabiner models off of makerworld to do the same, and attach them via the unscrewable tip of the axe :)
