Boost Me (for free)

Like this model? Give it a boost to let me know I need to make more things like this:) THX!

Do you need a 3D printed comb? Well, you're in luck! This was a highly requested version of the original print-in-place butterfly knife. It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to accomplish it, and in the end it turned into a non-print-in-place, but the assembly of it is SUPER easy!

The fierce strength of the hold is possible due to the tapered tang on the comb's end pressing into the tapered hole within the print in place handle. I don't expect it to be necessary, but there is a hole at the bottom of the comb's tang which can be tapped out to M4x0.7 where a 10mm long button head screw can be inserted for a failsafe positive hold. The screw is optional, all the ones I printed were found to hold just fine without it, but it's there just in case ;)

The bulk of the print is done as a print in place, then the handle simply inserted and you're ready to style your hair away after a dazzling display of digital dexterity.

If you want to see everything about the process of design, print, assembly, and testing of this I've made a YouTube video detailing my journey.
