Description

1911-22 Sight Replacement Picatinny Rail

I have designed this rail so that I could mount a red dot sight on my 1911.

 

Provided profile is for quality print using PTEG-CF, therefore the print time is high. Feel free to change the profile to the Standard 0.2mm if you want a quick print.

 

Developed and test fitted on a 1911-22 Sig-Sour. Please share your experience using it with other models!

  • V2 added
    • Has thicker anchor point
    • Added curvature to match the profile of the gun better
    • Designed to be very tight, it may take some force to push the rail in place but when you do, it sits way tighter on the gun and is able to support a red dot without being wobbly like the V1 was.

    • [3/20/2024] I have finally had the time to go out and test the rail with a red dot on it
      • I was not able to zero in the red dot all the way, the rail is still too loose. It moves by a millimeter from left to right and vice versa. Thus I was never able to make clean shots dead on target but it was close enough for me to leave it on and keep using it. For me it was better and more consistent than shooting with the stock sights. I still want to revisit the design when I have time and try to make it more stable.
      • In terms of durability, it did not crack or otherwise break anywhere so that's a success! The rail I'm currently using is printed using PLA-CF.
