Description

This project is a compact vertical conveyor belt entirely 3D printed and designed in Shapr3D it demonstrates a simple yet efficient continuous motion mechanism built only from modular printed parts the structure is made of articulated paddles connected with M3 screws forming a flexible belt that runs smoothly around two gear wheels each paddle stays horizontal during movement creating a stable surface for carrying small items like screws nuts or balls the vertical frame and base are 3D printed in PLA providing rigidity and support while keeping the system lightweight the motion is powered by a small DC motor connected to one of the gears allowing a slow and steady rotation the design is easy to print assemble and scale for demonstration or educational purposes showing how a simple geometry can produce a reliable continuous conveyor motion

 

  • Print all parts in PLA or PETG including paddles, side connectors, gears and the support frame
  • Assemble the paddles into a belt using M3 screws (length 3.6–4 cm) — insert one screw on each side of every paddle to create a flexible articulated chain make sure each joint moves freely without tightening too much
  • Once the entire chain is connected, you’ll have a continuous flexible belt that can bend around the gear wheels
  • Mount the two gears (top and bottom) onto the vertical frame using the printed axles or metal shafts make sure they spin freely
  • Wrap the belt around the two gears aligning the M3 screw joints into the gear teeth so they engage perfectly like a real conveyor
  • Tighten the frame with screws and test the rotation by hand to ensure the paddles move smoothly
  • Attach the motor to the lower gear using direct coupling or a small connector then power it at low voltage (3–6 V) to see the belt rotate continuously
