Recycled Color-Changing Silica Bead Painting - Autumn Charm of Silica - Only 9g

A few days ago, while sifting silica gel, I found that the fine silica beads looked quite beautiful in the sun, so I used the color-changing properties of orange/green silica gel to create this maple leaf decorative painting I used PETG Translucent green filament The silica beads look even better under direct sunlight to the naked eye, but unfortunately, my phone couldn't capture it

The print profile with a lid includes an extra lid, which can slow down the color change of the silica beads I don't have transparent filament on hand, otherwise, I could try fixing it directly with a transparent lid without using super glue

Later, I will upload the same maple leaf decoration without the bottom, which can be used as bookmarks, ornaments, etc

Production Process:

1. Select orange/green silica gel, and use a sieve to separate the finer silica beads with smaller diameters Even if you want to use larger silica beads, do not skip this step, otherwise, the base plate will not be fully covered

   

2. Use a small spoon to spread the fine silica beads across the base plate, filling smaller areas as much as possible with crushed silica beads Then use a flat tool to remove any parts that are higher than the pattern's edge

3. Use a dropper to absorb a small amount of super glue and dab it into the silica bead area, allowing the beads to soak in the super glue I used oil-based sand-fixing glue that I had on hand; other slow-drying transparent glues should also work

   

4. After the super glue dries, invert the silica bead artwork and shake off any beads that aren't firmly adhered You will get a green maple leaf

5. If drying is needed, as shown in the picture, place the silica bead artwork on a filament box, place the filament box on the heated bed, set the heated bed temperature to 70 degrees Celsius, and after about 6 hours, the silica beads will turn yellow Note: Some super glues may release toxic or harmful gases when heated; ensure good sealing during heating and ventilate after heating is complete

   

6. Place the yellow maple leaf in humid air, and it will slowly turn dark green
