Description

Update 11-22-2025:  I posted this new model optimized for single nozzle printers, and customizable if none of the gauge tags fit your glasses.

Make your table classy and keep drinks straight all season. This model set gives you dual-purpose customized name tags:

  • Place-setting name tags, each with a neat holder
  • Clip-on glass name tags sized to your exact glass rim

Print your name tags once and then use the same tags for both–they fit!  Your table looks consistent from cocktails to dessert.

What’s included

  • Gauge tags (faster, less-detailed single color prints) to test rim fit on your glassware. Pick the tightness that’s right, then print the real tags in that size.
  • Separate plates in each size with customizable name tags for family and guests — print single-color or multicolor (raised contrasting letters).
  • Simple, attractive individual place-tag holders with a Gridfinity-compatible base so you can store a whole set easily and take out just the ones you need.  Or use one of the included Gridfinity holders to store up to 10 or 28 tags.

Why it’s great for the holidays

  • Family members and guests won’t wonder whether cocktail and water glasses are theirs:  their names are right there.
  • Match your table or holiday décor: Choose Silk+ PLA Candy Green tags with matte Ivory White letters like the pictures or any combination that works well with your decor.
  • Print a few all-purpose tags:  Guest, Friend, Plus 1, etc.

Sizing & fit

  1. Print the gauge tag plate.  This plate has tags with a variety of rim diameters and thicknesses.

2.  Try the gauge tags on your actual glasses; note the number that fits how you like.

Glass rims vary widely.  On the gauge tags the first number is the glass outer diameter and the second number is the rim thickness, but sloping sides and varying thicknesses make trying the various gauge pieces your best bet.

3.  Go to the build plate labeled with that size variant.  Copy and paste that tag on that plate as many times as you need.

4.  Edit the text on each object to use the name you want.  Be sure the new text is centered on the tag by dragging the yellow square in the center of the text.

.

  1. The print profiles include large brims to help stabilize the tags during printing.  I recommend manually placing the tags so the brims overlap after slicing – this will help keep the tags stable during printing.
  2. Choose your tag and text colors, slice, and print.
  3. For multicolor prints, an H2D makes a huge difference in print time and efficient use of filament.  I highly encourage the H2D (or H2C, when it arrives) for multicolor prints.

Care and Use

  • Hand-wash only. PLA isn’t dishwasher safe!
  • Please don't use on children's cups if they aren't old enough to keep the tags out of their mouths.  We want a happy gathering!
  • The tags are not intended to be in contact with your beverages.  Please keep liquid levels below the tag.
