Description

Give your vehicle a personality all its own!

Introducing the Hitch-Prop, a fun, 3D-printable accessory that brings your tow hitch to life. This propeller is designed to catch the wind, spinning wildly as you drive down the road. It creates a captivating illusion, almost like it's powering your vehicle forward!

It's the perfect weekend project and a fantastic way to make your ride stand out.

Key Features:

  • Wind-Powered Kinetic Art: No motors, no batteries. It's powered purely by the wind from your drive.
  • Durable by Design: Engineered to be printed in materials like PETG, ASA, or ABS to withstand UV rays, rain, and road grime.
  • Secure & Simple Assembly: The bracket and retaining ring are designed to be securely locked in place with a single M4 screw.
  • Optimized for Smoothness: Add a dab of grease to the shaft for ultra-smooth, high-RPM spinning!

Printing & Assembly Instructions (Crucial for 3D Models):

Before You Print the Full Set: Read This!

To save you time and filament, please follow these steps:

  1. Print a Test Fit First: Before committing to the full print, please print the "Mating_Test" and "Shaft" files.
  2. Check Your Tolerances: This test will help you dial in your support settings and ensure the parts have a perfect, smooth-spinning fit.

Printing Recommendations:

  • Material: PETG is highly recommended for its excellent UV resistance and durability. ASA or outdoor-rated ABS are also great choices. (PLA is not recommended as it will warp in the sun).
  • Supports: Supports will likely be needed for the shaft and propeller overhangs, depending on your printer's capabilities.

Assembly Guide:

  1. Clean any support material from your prints.
  2. For maximum performance, apply a small amount of lubricant (like synthetic grease or silicone lubricant) to the shaft.
  3. Secure the bracket and retaining ring to your hitch using one M4 screw.
  4. Mount the propeller and get ready to drive!

!! IMPORTANT NOTICES & CUSTOMIZATION !!

1. Safety & Legal Warning: Do Not Block Your License Plate!

  • Before driving, you must ensure that the propeller does not obstruct your license plate in any way.
  • It is your responsibility to check and comply with all local and state/provincial vehicle laws.

2. Need a Custom Fit?

  • Does the standard bracket sit too high or too low for your vehicle?
  • Just send me a private message! I am happy to design a custom-height bracket to ensure you get a perfect, and legal, fit for your specific car or truck.
