The model has reached 50 boosts (and even more)! As promised, I’m happy to present the updated version with a snow plow blade! Please read below!
For those who have already printed the original Snowcat and want to upgrade it to the snow plow blade version, you’ll need one additional 9g Continuous Rotation Digital Servo (360°), the new plow parts, plus the updated chassis frame and lower body (floor). I’ve attached a render showing all required parts, and there is a dedicated print profile that includes everything needed for the upgrade.
I’ve added two new print profiles for the snow plow blade version and updated the original print profiles for users who don’t want to build the plow right now. If you change your mind later, you’ll be able to add the snow plow without reprinting the floor and frame.
For the snow plow version, please use the dedicated manual: “V3 Snow Plow Snowcat Instruction.” And new Json code!
On Halloween I rewatched The Thing and got hooked again on those rugged arctic snowcats. I thought, “Winter is coming—time to build my own version on a CyberBrick base.” That’s how this Snowcat was born: compact, utilitarian, sitting right on the tracks with a true expedition vibe. I took inspiration from vintage machines of the Sprite 1200 era—no brand ties, just the atmosphere of polar stations, crisp snow, and long winter twilights.

I printed in PLA and really obsessed over the colors. For the “chrome” look, PLA Silk+ Silver was perfect—rims and small accents shine just right. Instead of plain black I used PLA Metal Iron Gray Metallic: it softens reflections, hides layer lines, and gives the details that industrial look. All filaments are listed in the materials so you can match the palette one-to-one.
The model is designed for your CyberBrick tracked base. For a full build you’ll need the CyberBrick kit itself and an additional 9g Continuous Rotation Digital Servo (360°)—it’s listed in the materials as well. The front and rear lights actually light up, and the control scheme works like a real tracked vehicle: left stick = left track, right stick = right track. I use the standard CyberBrick joystick—wiring is intuitive.
If the model reaches 50 boosts, I’ll add a servo-driven snow plow to the set. A detailed PDF assembly guide is included—don’t forget to download it.
This Snowcat is about mood: the trail your tracks leave on fresh powder, the slow, steady pull, and the feeling that you’re hauling a crew to a weather station somewhere beyond the Arctic Circle. Grab the files, build your arctic rig, and enjoy winter in style.
