Description

This project is a fully functional color-sorting system that combines automation, sensors, and precision servo control. Using a TCS3200 color sensor, the system detects the color of objects placed on a small conveyor and triggers specific servos to sort the objects into corresponding channels It also has 4 leds to make sure the blocks are lit up for accurate readings. Three micro servos operate as sorting arms that direct red, green, or blue blocks, while a continuous rotation servo drives the conveyor belt to ensure smooth movement and another micro servo for feeding the blocks into the belt.

The system is powered intelligently with one power supply for the servos and microcontroller to prevent voltage drops and ensure stable operation. All components are coordinated via a PCA9685 16-channel servo driver, allowing precise PWM control for accurate sorting. The color sensor is calibrated to detect black or empty areas, preventing false triggers, and the software is optimized for real-time, non-blocking operation so multiple blocks can be sorted efficiently in sequence.

This project demonstrates principles of automation, mechatronics, and embedded system design, making it ideal for learning about sensors, servo control, and power management in practical engineering applications. It’s a great example of a hands-on project that combines programming, electronics, and mechanical design to create a responsive, real-world system.
