Description
Hello Donkey Kong fans,
With the new console game at the latest, the ape has crept into our hearts.
I was looking for a suitable Donkey Kong model that I could use as decoration for my orchids on the windowsill. It should look as if he is swinging through the jungle on my windowsill.
I have already uploaded a Groot model that also serves this purpose.
You can find my Groot here:
and a Flexi Super Mario model in color is also available now:

On Thingiverse I then found an appealing articulated model. Which also really has a true-to-original facial expression. That is really rare too.
Unfortunately, it was only monochrome and without separated areas, and it couldn't simply be colored with the fill bucket tool. I scaled it down a bit to meet my needs.
Since I am very uncreative and untalented when it comes to painting, I decided to color the model with the freehand tool in Bambu Studio, which took several hours.
My two AMS units were then supposed to do the rest for me and lead me to a perfectly colored DK.
Yes, I really took on a challenge; it was really hard work because I am very perfectionistic to get the best result for myself. But whatever the cost, I wanted to see this colored DK hanging in the flowers on my windowsill.
I think the result speaks for itself; take a look at the photos. The little guy is just waiting to enter your jungle.
My kids also find him so beautiful that he keeps disappearing from the jungle.
You can easily scale DK, but keep in mind that if you reduce his size, the hand contact area will also become smaller, which he later uses to hold on.
I scaled it to 60%. If I measure the curve of the hollow hand, a round rod of up to approximately 1cm in diameter would fit.
As seen in the pictures, I hung him on a rectangular rod. The dimensions of my rod are: 1cm thick and 2cm wide. This is just a rough guide.
It is a Print in Place model; simply print it as is. No supports, no glue, no assembly required. If you have problems with bed adhesion, use the brim that I have already added as a precaution. However, also remember that this must be carefully removed.
To make it look even nicer, I optionally printed some Banandium jewels to perfect the Bananza jungle. I also remixed the Banandium jewels, adapted them to DK's scale, and colored them with the freehand tool. Anyone who likes can round off their image with it.
You can find the Banandium Jewel Banana here:
I reduced it to almost 35% so that it fits the hand.
If you are a bit more creative and experienced in hand painting, then simply print it in monochrome in under 2 hours and let your creativity run free.
I always appreciate positive comments, likes, and especially ratings and boosts.
With the boosts available to you for free, you can really do me a big favor.

Does DK put a smile on your face? Put one on my face too by hitting boost. Thanks
