This slider prevents the Asian hornet Vespa velutina from entering a beehive.
Neither the hornet nor a mouse can pass through the 5.5 mm gap.
By turning the sliders, the hive can be completely closed.
The grille also protects the bees during or before departure.
As shown in the photo with the arrow, it is still necessary to bevel the locking hook for proper engagement.
