Description

This is a simple, sturdy, and space-saving wall mount for your 1kg (or smaller) filament spools.

I designed this model because I ran out of room on my desk from all the spools. Now I can get my filament collection organized and off my desk, and you can too!

Key Features:

  • Simple & Lightweight: Prints quickly in less than 2 hours and weighs only 43 grams.
  • Sturdy Design: The model is designed to be printed on its side. This orients the layer lines to provide maximum strength against the weight of the spool.
  • Space-Saving: Gets your spools off your desk or shelf and displays them neatly on the wall.
  • Color: If you would like, you can print the spool holder in the same color as the filament on the spool so you know what color it is looking from the front.

Warning: Print Orientation

  • You MUST print this model on its side (as oriented in the 3MF file) for strength. If you print it standing up, the layer lines will be weak and it will snap under the weight of the spool.

Recommended Settings:

  • Filament: Bambu Lab PLA Basic works fine. Any material stronger than PLA (like PETG or ASA) will work even better and be less prone to breaking or bending over time. I've even used Bambu Lab Silk PLA for it and it hasn't broken yet. I would say don't use TPU though because it would probably just bend and the spool would fall off.
  • Infill: 15% Gyroid - Going too high or too low can actually make it weaker.

Hardware needed:

#8 pan head screws x2 per piece
