Description
*Update - Some people were complaining panels were too thick so I have included thinner versions in the file. Please read plate names.
I created a modular acoustic panel you can design and customize yourself
I designed my panel out of wood originally then thought about printing it so I created this file.
The board is 8"x8" one version is expandable on all 4 sides the other board is expandable only on 1 side (makes 1x2's)
Dovetails are used to connect the board and the half dovetails are used to cap holes you may not need.
The pegs can be printed in any color (change top shell layer to 0 to achieve the see through gyro infill look)
Colors I used: Matte Dessert Tan, Matte Dark Brown, Matte Caramel, and Matte Latte Brown PLA
The 0 Top shell exposes the infill and makes the pegs more sound absorbing. I tried to create a gradient from solid to infill
Infill %'s I used were minimum of 6 and maximum of 13 but feel free to experiment.
Print the Board with 6% infill 3 walls no supports. Print the pegs with whatever desired look you want to achieve (6 top shell for best quality)
3 walls to prevent infill from showing from the sides of pegs. I noticed the quality of the prints dropped if I loaded the bed with pegs so I only printed max 16 at once and quality was perfect. Send to different parts of bed to avoid uneven wear on your printer.
I went through 2 PETG rolls of black and 5 rolls of matte pla to create what you see in the images
