A pencil extender that is comfortable to hold
Print Profile(1)

Description
Families with children always accumulate a pile of short pencil stubs; it's a waste to throw them away, but they're uncomfortable to hold and use, so I thought of a pencil extender. There are many pencil extenders in the community, but most are too thick and have poor grip, so I designed this extender.

The pen body uses a 3-claw fixing method, which can accommodate common triangular, hexagonal, and round pencils, and pencils with a length between 4-12cm can be used.
Unlike the common screw-tightening method in the community, I adopted a plug-in fixing method. The layer lines produced by FDM printing create enough friction between the grip and the pen body to prevent the pen from slipping out. At the same time, it also minimizes the diameter of the extender, making its thickness comparable to a standard retractable gel pen, ensuring a good grip.

To sharpen or replace a pencil, simply hold the pen body, and with a slight push on the grip with your thumb and forefinger, the pencil will be released.

To provide a better grip, I referenced the design of capacitive pens for digital drawing tablets and designed a slight flare at the grip, allowing even children to maintain a good grip. (A design certified by countless professional artists must be reliable😃)

Printing recommendations:
- The pen body must be printed with a material that has a certain degree of toughness, such as PETG or ABS. PLA is relatively brittle, and its layer adhesion is not as good as PETG, so the fixing claws can easily be damaged.
- For the pen grip, you can choose any material you like. For example, I chose PLA Silk
