Chicken-Banana was no ordinary creature. Deep in the tropical jungle, she grew on a secret tree that glowed golden only during a full moon. When the fruit was ripe, its peel cracked open – and out came a creature with the body of a banana and the head of a curious chicken.

Chicken-Banana was cheerful by nature, but a little clumsy. Although she couldn't really fly, when she flapped her tiny wings, she became so light that she bounced like a swaying fruit in the wind. The other jungle animals were skeptical at first. A monkey asked, “Are you fruit… or breakfast?” But when Chicken-Banana started to cluck for the first time and at the same time emitted a sweet, fruity banana scent, everyone was convinced: she was something very special.

One day, Chicken-Banana overheard the animals arguing. The monkey insisted on having the bananas for himself, the rooster claimed the morning crow, and everyone howled in confusion. “Stop!” cried Chicken-Banana and bravely fluttered onto a fallen tree trunk. “We share! Everyone gets a little bit of everything!” The animals looked at her in astonishment – and it worked. Nobody was hungry, nobody was angry.

From that day on, Chicken-Banana was considered the peacemaker of the jungle. If someone was in a bad mood, a little “Cluck-cluck-bananaa!” was enough, and everyone laughed again. And so, Chicken-Banana became a legend – half breakfast, half feather, but one hundred percent heart.
