SKÅDIS mounts for Brian Dean’s excellent Magnet Dispenser Pens ). Those dispensers are great so if you don't already have them, do yourself a favor and check them out!
My Design Goals
- Create a clean, continuous “row” across SKADIS with no gaps between holders (see “SKADIS Staggering” section below for more details)
- Keep it minimalist and modular — print only the sizes you need
- Optional integrated size labels
- Front slot to view magnet level without removing the dispenser pen
This was a labor of love with many rounds of refinement and test prints. I’ve personally tested most of the common sizes (see real-world photo). For the sizes I don’t own, I used Brian Dean’s measurements with a consistent buffer, so they should fit well — but if you find an issue, please DM me and I’ll fix it quickly.
Profiles
Models are split into two profiles according to size
- 2mm–8mm pens → narrow-base holders
- 9mm+ pens → wide or extra-wide base holders
Text Options
- Default / Suggested: Embossed size labels (5x2, 8x3, 10x1, etc.). The text is a separate object for easy color swapping with AMS or dual-nozzle printers (H2D, H2C, X2D, etc).
- No Text: Each size includes a label-free “No Text” version for vinyl labels or a cleaner look.
- Debossed Outline: Delete the text object to leave only the recessed outline of the label.
Just like Brian Dean’s original dispensers, you can deselect any sizes you don’t want to print.
Printing Notes
Supports are required (already configured in my 3MF) but remove cleanly with just a little bit of care/attention.
About SKADIS Staggering (read if you use 9 - 15mm magnets)
The 9mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 15mm holders use a wider base with three hook rows.
To align these larger bases horizontally with the narrow versions, you will need to chose between the two different staggered hook patterns ('standard' or ‘inverse’). See photos.
Optional, but you can print BOTH hook patterns for any 9,10,12 and 15mm size(s) you use. That does take more filament and print time but will ensure you can always achieve no gaps and no “wasted” pegboard space (if that is something that is important to you) if you ever add additional dispensers in the future.
Boosters
Thanks for the Boosts! I don't take them for granted and am very humbled and appreciative when I receive them and want to shout out the boosters here for a special thanks.
