.22 Ammo Storage Box with Handle

This updated version of my .22LR Storage Box builds on the original design but now includes a fully integrated, fold-down locking carry handle, making it easier and safer to transport.
The handle rotates smoothly and snaps firmly into a recessed position when not in use, preventing rattling or accidental movement during storage. When lifted, it provides a solid, comfortable grip for carrying the loaded box.

Just like the original model, this box is designed to hold the Ammo Storage Box 22LR 100 Rounds and Ammo Storage Box 22LR 50 Rounds models created by @Coconut.

It can store six 100-round boxes or twelve 50-round boxes, keeping your .22LR ammunition neatly organized at home or ready for range trips. The overall structure remains sturdy and stack-able, and it can still be used with the optional L-shaped alignment inserts for clean vertical stacking. If you choose to use them, they should be super-glued either to the top of the lid or the bottom of the box — whichever you prefer. In my photos, I glued them to the lid mainly for aesthetic reasons.

The internal dimensions (including the lid) remain:
180 mm (L) × 105 mm (W) × 105 mm (T) — providing the same snug, reliable fit for Coconut’s compatible ammo cases.

Print Settings

• Material: PLA (I used PLA, but PETG also works great)
• Layer Height: 0.20 mm
• Nozzle: 0.4 mm
• Walls: 2 And 7 (for strength) on plate 3 with the exception of the inserts
• Supports: Just small supports on the box
• Brim: On the Latch Pins and Hinged Pins.

The Latch Pins should be a tight fit to the box and lid.

The text on the lid can be edited directly in Bambu Studio if you’d like to customize it with your own label or name. 

Update – Compact Version Available

A compact version of this box is now available, designed around Coconut’s 66-round ammo boxes. It holds six boxes in a smaller footprint and fits on smaller printers without scaling.
