I bring soap to the pool to shower after a swim. I was tired of wrapping it in a bag or even wasting a precious squirt just to lock the pump. That spawned this simple, but customizable pump lock. It can also be used for travel locking or child proofing!
This is a fully customizable Pump Blocker/Limiter. It snaps around the neck of a pump bottle to physically stop it from being depressed.
I designed this in OpenSCAD so it’s not just a "one size fits all" file. You can adjust the height, diameter, and thickness to fit practically any bottle in your house.
You can also adjust the height so you only let out partial pumps, limiting the soap dispensed!
Key Features:
- Fully Parametric: Adjust the inner diameter and height to match your specific bottle.
- Snap-Fit: The "C-clip" design is calculated to snap on securely but pop off when you need it.
- Optional Extension: Includes a toggle for a "tall back" extension. This prevents the clip from rotating and gives you a better spot to grip it for removal.
- Flush Design: The top extension can be offset inward, to deal with screw threads, keeping the outer profile smooth and flush.
Inner Diameter: Thickness of the bottle stem
Wall Thickness: How thick you want it?
Height: Main section height
Cutout %: This is the notch so it clips in 85% seems to work pretty well
Extension: Enable if you have screw thread or other offset that you need to accommodate
Extension Height: Additional height, starting at the top of the base
Extension Thickness: This starts at the outer perimeter, will allow for threads to sit behind the clip and have the clip more flush
