Description

Modernist Tic-Tac-Toe (Noughts & Crosses) | Pocket Travel Version with Secure Magnetic Drawer and Flawless Finish.

✨ Elegance Meets Functionality: Modernist Tic-Tac-Toe

Introducing the Modernist Tic-Tac-Toe – a project that elevates a classic game with minimalist aesthetics and high-class craftsmanship, perfectly suited for 3D printing. Designed for enthusiasts of contemporary design, this set is as beautiful as it is practical.

This is not just any game – it's a compact, pocket travel version that fits easily into any bag or backpack.

🔒 Ingenious Travel Solution & Stability

The entire board features a clever storage solution and an essential feature for stability:

  • Integrated Drawer: Both the pieces (noughts and crosses) are safely tucked away in a minimalist, slide-out drawer built into the base of the game.
  • Secure Magnetic Lock: The drawer is secured with four small magnets (3x2mm total) – two embedded in the drawer and two in the housing. This robust magnetic lock ensures the game will not open during transport, keeping your pieces secure on the go.
  • Anti-Slip Design (Gamer-Stable): The board fields are specially contoured to fit the pieces! Recesses have been added to the playing squares so that the noughts and crosses sit firmly in place. This crucial design element ensures that the pieces will not fall off the board due to movement or vibration, making it perfect for playing in a car, train, or anywhere on the move.

🔬 Flawless Finish with AMS (Multi-Material Print)

A key feature of this design is the use of an advanced multi-material printing technique to achieve perfectly smooth and clean surfaces:

  1. Main Material: The entire game (board and pieces) is printed using PLA.
  2. Support Interface: We utilize the AMS system to print the support interface using PETG.
  3. Clean Removal: Because PETG and PLA almost do not adhere to each other, the support material peels away effortlessly, especially from the complex geometry under the board's recess and the drawer mechanism. The result is a clean finish without the need for post-processing.

🎨 Color & Material Recommendation

For the ultimate modernist aesthetic, we recommend a high-contrast, matte finish:

  • Board & Drawer: Dark Gray Matte PLA
  • Pieces (Noughts & Crosses): White Matte PLA
  • Support Interface: PETG (any color)

🛠️ Required Materials and Assembly

  • Board and Pieces: PLA (two contrasting colors)
  • Support Interface: PETG (any color)
  • Magnets: 4 pieces of 3mm x 2mm (to be glued into the designated slots – 2 in the drawer, 2 in the housing)

Assembly: Simply glue the four magnets into the designed recesses. No screws or additional structural components are required.

Print, assemble, and enjoy this aesthetic and functional version of Tic-Tac-Toe!
