Description

Transform your aquarium with this detailed 3D model of a rugged rock spire. Designed with both aesthetics and tank health in mind, it features sharp rock textures and organic shapes that blend seamlessly with live plants and substrate.

Key Features:

  • Perfect Hiding Spots: The model features a large main archway and several smaller openings, offering excellent refuge for shy fish (like Cichlids, Tetras, or Bettas) and shrimp looking for a safe place to molt.
  • Vertical Drama: Standing at 16 cm tall, this piece utilizes the vertical space in your tank, creating a striking silhouette without taking up too much floor space.
  • Swim-Through Design: The interconnected cavities allow for water flow and provide engaging pathways for fish to explore.

Dimensions:

  • Height: 16 cm
  • Width: 15 cm
  • Depth: 11,5 cm

Print Settings

For the best results in an aquatic environment, please follow these recommendations:

  • Material: PETG is highly recommended for longevity in water. PLA can be used but may degrade faster over time. Ensure your filament is clean and free of toxic additives.
  • Layer Height: 0.12 mm or 0.16 mm to capture the rock texture details.
  • Infill: 5-15% Grid or Gyroid.
  • Supports: My model is printed without support but tree supports can be used depending on your printer.
  • Walls/Perimeters: 2 or 3 walls to ensure the part is robust and watertight.

IMPORTANT: FDM prints contain air and will float. To keep this model submerged, you must choose one of these methods:

  1. Weighted Print: Pause the print at approx 10-20% height and fill the hollow infill space with heavy non-toxic items (like glass marbles, aquarium gravel, or stainless steel nuts) before resuming.
  2. Mounting: Use aquarium-safe silicone or super glue (cyanoacrylate gel) to attach the printed model to a heavy slate rock or the bottom of the tank glass.
